The Altitude and Limited trim packages are similar in many ways. This includes towing and seating capability, powertrain, fuel economy, and more.

Depending on the vehicle configuration, the towing capacity can vary. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude has a max towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. This is with the 3.6L V6 engine which is the standard engine offered with these vehicles.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has the same towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. 

Many Jeep Grand Cherokees have a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds when properly equipped. 

But for the Altitude and Limited models with the V6 engine, the towing capacity is 6,200 pounds.

Seating – Interior space

Both vehicles offer 59.2 inches of front seat shoulder room and 57.4 of front seat hip room. They offer 58 inches of rear-seat shoulder room and 56.3 inches of rear-seat hip room.

Interior trim

One of the huge advantages that the Jeep Limited has over the Jeep Altitude is the standard interior trim.

The Limited comes with a luxurious interior including leather bucket seats, leather steering wheel, and woodgrain interior trim. None of these are available for the Altitude trim. 

If you are looking for a moonroof, it is an optional feature on both models. 

Additional luxury features included with the Jeep Limited interior include:

These features are not available on the Jeep Altitude.

Powertrain – engine options

The Jeep Altitude and Limited come standard with a 3.6L V6 engine rated at 293 HP at 6400 RPM which produces 257 pound-feet of torque. Both vehicles include an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

Rear-wheel drive is standard with the option for 4×4. 

Fuel economy

Both the Jeep Altitude and Jeep Limited have the same fuel economy and tank capacity. Both vehicles will hold 23 gallons of gasoline and are tested to get 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG for highway driving.

Curb weight

Although the max towing weight of these vehicles is the same at 6,200 pounds, the curb weight is slightly different. 

The Jeep Altitude weighs 4,238 pounds and the Limited weighs 4,426 pounds. Therefore the Limited weighs 188 pounds more. 

Wheels and tires

Both the Jeep Altitude and Limited include aluminum wheels as standard. Wheels and tire size are different.
